## Core Principles

## Modification & Versioning Best Practices

### Making Changes

1. **Identify Change Type**
   - Editorial (typo, clarification) → Patch version
   - New optional feature → Minor version
   - Breaking change → Major version

2. **Update Version Number**
   - Increment appropriate version component
   - Update "Version" in frontmatter
   - Add "Status" label (Draft → Candidate → Recommendation → Final)

3. **Document in Change Log**
